ABSTRACT

The disease of the respiratory system had been a cureous concern for the human being since past. In our history we come across many incidence related to the disorders of the respiratory system. Ayurveda gives a details explanation of some of the pranavaha srotas disease which is similar to pulmonary diseases under the heading of Kasa, hikka, swasa & rajyakshma. In olden days we did not have the diagnostic tool as today so many of the disorder were missed or un diagnosed, with the invention of radio-diagnostic tools a new era of medical sciences was started. The chest radiograph (chest x-ray) is the commonest & easily available diagnostic tool to interpretate the respiratory disease(Sutton 2013) . organ related to Pranavaha srotas are nasa, kantha, apa stambha, phuspphusa, pranavaha dhamani(Shastri 2005) whereas modern science include nose, sinuse paranasal, pharynx under upper respiratory tract and trachea , bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli under lower respiratory tract In this study the patient presenting with respiratory complain were selected for the study.
