ABSTRACT
“ This study seeks to empirically examine the benefits and convenience of the cashless economy in Zimbabwe. To achieve its objectives, the study employed a qualitative research approach, in which accidental sampling technique was employed. The results indicate that the emergence of the cashless economy paradigm in Zimbabwe has posed benefits to economic agents. However, results also indicate that cashless payment platforms in Zimbabwe are not yet efficient as anticipated. Amongst other policy prescriptions, the study recommends the provision of necessary infrastructural facilities such as POS vending machines that support and facilitate the smooth flow of the cashless society.
