ABSTRACT

For the quality education, it is advisable to reform our teaching practices in the light of recommendations of NCF 2005. In the light of this framework child is viewed as a “discoverer” who can actively construct his knowledge and build his understanding on his own experiences. Hence, this framework advocates the use of experimentation at every stage of Science teaching. All this required massive support from teachers, school authorities, principal, administration and the government. In the present research, an attempt was made to find out the impact of Experimental Approach of Teaching Science on the Achievement of Secondary Level Students of Hyderabad. The objective of this study was to investigate whether the Experimental teaching approach or conventional method of teaching improves students` achievement in science. This study was a pre-test, post-test, quasi experimental design. The Science achievement test used to estimate the student`s achievement. The findings of this research reveal that Student taught in Experimental learning environment have significantly enhanced their understanding and application abilities as compared to other abilities like knowledge and skill.
