ABSTRACT

The wound known as Vrana in Ayurveda, is perhaps the oldest ailment from which the mankind has suffered from. In ancient Ayurvedic texts a detailed description of this disease is available specially in Sushruta Samhita. There, the Acharyas have described the every aspect of this disease condition in detail and their effort is exactly very similar to the description available today in the various available literatures of  so called modern medicine. Therefore, in the light of these facts this effort have been carried out to collect, discuss and describe the Ayurvedic relevant concept of Vrana, i.e. Wound.
