ABSTRACT

                          The Land of Five Rivers - Punjab is an Indian state known for its Vibrancy and Dynamism. Punjab is a perfect mix of traditional (agriculture) and modern (industry) growth. Punjab traditionally has been known as the “bread basket of India” because of its high levels of productivity and agricultural growth. Punjab is largely dependent on agriculture and the state has contributed to the central pool significantly towards strengthening India’s self-sufficiency. The state is well developed in terms of just not agriculture or industry but also in terms of upcoming infrastructure and rich educational opportunities-Punjab University, Punjabi University, Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab Technical University and many more. Over the years, the state has been witnessing a change in all spheres be it education, infrastructure, upcoming thermal plants, migration to other countries, investment friendly environment, strong army base, border connections with Pakistan, tourist attractions etc. This paper shows its focus on how over a time of span, the economy of Punjab is undergoing  changes thus impacting its economy.
