Abstract
The SHG-Bank Linkage Program (SBLP) was launched in 1992 as a flagship program by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). SHGs play pivotal role in socio economic empowerment of the rural people particularly the women folk. The basic research objective of the study is to study the performance evaluation of SHG-BL program promoted by the government under micro finance model. The research study is basically based on primary sources of data. The researcher also obtained the secondary sources of data. The researcher had selected 42 groups as sample size for this study. The researcher had made use of non probability convenience sampling technique. The researcher undertook the present study in khowang block of Dibrugarh district. This program is giving opportunity to the weaker section of the society to involve in various social activities, income earning activities and asset creation. But the performance evaluation of SHG- BL program is concerned, it is not up to the expectation which is evident from the present study.
