Objectives: The purpose of this research paper is to explore the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence technologies on the libraries of higher educational institutions in India.

Methodology: This research paper will utilize a literature review approach, analyzing relevant scholarly articles, reports, and industry publications to understand the current state of AI implementation in Indian academic libraries, its benefits, challenges, and the future outlook.

Findings: The implementation of AI in higher educational libraries of India has brought forth significant advancements. Automation of tasks like cataloguing, classification, and indexing has increased efficiency. AI-powered information retrieval services enable users to access relevant resources in real-time.

Practical Implications: With strategic planning and investment, AI can drastically upgrade the functioning of libraries, making them more efficient, user-friendly, and responsive to the evolving educational landscape in India.

Originality: This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of AI adoption in Indian academic libraries, identifying both the opportunities and challenges, and charting a path forward for their effective utilization.
