ABSTRACT
Aim of the study: For routing in WSNs there are several routing algorithms are proposed and PEGASIS is one of the most important routing algorithm among all of them as it is base algorithm for all the other approaches. These all the approaches are the chain based hierarchical approaches and have been proposed in order to provide a network of better lifetime and the load balancing energy consumption in the network. EEPB’s improved version IEEPB is proposed with the removal of long links, selection of leader optimally and improvement of load balance energy consumption.
Findings: We have proposed an improvement in our work in order to solve the load balancing and long link removal by keeping the threshold of the node degree and distance of the node from the other node. A new method is also considered while selecting a leader and then a new method of the data transmission is also adopted to decrease the delay in the data transfer.
Also, a new improvement for the Modified-PEGASIS is also proposed as an improvement for the PEGASIS. It has a new method to chain construction and leader selection but the data transmission is still the same as in the PEGASIS. We have proposed a new method for the modified-PEGASIS too which has efficient chain construction method and reconstruction method by adopting a new method for collecting and data transmission.
Methodology: We have used MATLABR2010a to illustrate that both the proposal proposed1 and proposed2 works better than IEEPB and modified-PEGASIS respectively.
