ANALYSIS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEMES PROVIDED BY PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS UNDER GOVERNMENT SPONSORED SCHEMES AT RAJSAMAND DISTRICT

ABSTRACT

                                   Rajsamand District is facing huge problems related with financial illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, pollution and lack of financial assistance. In order to overcome the above problems among SC/ST and other backward people, different developmental programmes were being launched, but the effectiveness of these programs was always being questionable. This paper analyses the financial assistance provided by the public sector banks to the backward classes’ people under various government schemes at the geographical area of Rajsamand district. Further the paper analyses the awareness and literacy of people of backward class. There is need to make the backward people aware about those programmes and also to remove the dominance of money lenders and Sahukars. This research work addresses other problems related with the financial assistance provided by banks under various government schemes, which has been arisen in southern part of Rajasthan especially Rajsamand district. Finally the paper revealed that out of 10 schemes analysed, the three plans Kisan Credit Card, Rashtriy Krishi bema yogna and Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yogna explains the change in living standards of SC/ST and other respondents in the geographical area of Rajsamand District.
