Abstract:
The Concrete which is made using the inorganic wastes is known as Green Concrete. It is quite eco-friendly and acts as a way to sustainable development of earth. This paper covers the feasibility of the usage of by-products such fly ash, pozzocrete, used foundry sand, etc. in concrete formation. The green concrete is formed by the partial replacement of cement and fine aggregates by its corresponding substitutes. This paper also deals with the effect on compressive strength of concrete when the cement is partially replaced by pozzocrete P60 as 30% by weight of cement and fine aggregates are replaced by used foundry sand as 10%, 25% and 50% by weight of cement. For this study, five sets of mixture proportions were prepared. The research was performed to study the technical benefits of partial replacing of cement and fine aggregates by their substitutes.
